At The River Mouth

The Don River has its mouth at Keating Channel and is surrounded by The Bend and Ookwemin Minising on either side. With its location, The Bend has the opportunity to catch both blue and green characters from the Inner Harbour and from the Don River landscape.
An Urban Hinge

The site is intersected by Queens Quay and Cherry St connecting it to the surrounding neighbouring areas. The Bend will become a central urban hinge being the main connection to Ookwemin Minising - a new gateway between old and new neighbourhoods of Toronto.
A Channel Site

The Bend has a unique location at the transition from being a waterfront site to a channel site. The location by the channel creates new conditions and possibilities for the public realm and how we build towards the water’s edge - the experience of a closer connection to the water.

The Bend has a rich history, having evolved from natural wetlands in the 19th century to an industrial zone and now a vacant site awaiting transformation.
