Designing
The Bend
Designed with intention and guided by a strong public realm, every element of the Bend reinforces a sense of community and place.
From the vibrant waterfront promenade to intimate courtyards, the Master Plan prioritizes people over cars, connections over barriers, and flexibility over rigidity. It reflects a city in motion – and a site that leads by design.

Take a Walk Through The Bend
The Débarcadère
The Débarcadère (in French) or Embarcadero (in Spanish) defines a key arrival point – where pedestrians cyclists and vehicles converge. This grand pick-up and drop-off point along Lake Shore Boulevard marks the arrival to the Bend.
NW Block Courtyards
A series of connected courtyards create spaces for gathering, resting and encounters with neighbours. Sit on a patio, grab a coffee and take in the hustle and bustle of Queens Quay.
East-West Passage
Each courtyard is connected by a mid-block passageway, connecting the Northwest Block from west to east.
Southwest Block
Across Queens Quay, the Southwest block offers a place for discovery. Take a journey to the water’s edge.
Woonerf Lane
A shared lane designed for people first – blending pedestrians, cyclists and slow-moving vehicles.
SW Block Courtyards
Intimate-scale courtyards offering places to gather, play, connect and relax.
Waterfront Promenade
A signature multi-level public space along the Keating Channel & Toronto’s next waterfront destination. Take in the view of the city, the inner harbour and the new island.
Upper Promenade
A lively pedestrian and cycling path lined with trees and vibrant retail spaces.
Lower Promenade
Inviting waterside seating offers a serene spot to unwind and enjoy unique views of the channel.
